Sock it to me!

This fantastic present (Sock and Glove by Miyako Kanamori) arrived in the mail this week - a birthday present from a lovely friend in Melbourne. So of course I ended up at Op Shops this week on a sock buying spree! So far I have only made one little character.

Lee has named her 'Elsie'. I think she will need some new friends soon. So many to choose from...

I am dying to find a pink glove so I can make the pig....but in the meantime, maybe a patch-eyed dog!

I have also finally gotten around to making something to add to my Etsy Shop (after setting it all up I suddenly lost interest in making bags for a while, and became all obsessed with making clothes, clothes and more clothes).

Anyway, this one is called the Dame Washalot shoulder bag (has anyone guessed the theme to my bag names yet? So far, no-one has said anything, so maybe it's just me who gets it, and everyone else just thinks I'm plain weird...).

I have also finally made myself a new bag, cause hey, what's the point of being a bag-maker unless you can make yourself a new one to play with every once in a while!

Admittedly, this bag was originally going into the shop....but how could I part with these gorgeous buttons...(yes I know, the button fixation again....get ready, as I think there may be more to come on this topic...ahem...stayed tuned - or don't, if you're really sick of me and my buttons :))

HA HA HA - Thanks Kerryn! Actually, Saucepan Man bag is on the LIST!!!!!!!

Poor old Mr Pink Whistle however, he is NOT on the list. (Matt and I were gobsmacked at the story titled 'Mr Pink Whistle Interferes AGAIN'....just something a little 'wrong' sounding about that one!)

I was waiting for saucepan man as well. Glad to hear that Merry Mr pink whistle is not going to be a bag - that would be wrong wrong wrong!

You make a lot of georgeous bags. I have to take another look at your etsy shop.....must see the saucepan man bag!

By the way - your writing makes me so happy...

Oh Ulla, thank-you so much for such lovely comments! It is very nice to know I make someone happy :)
However I thought I should let you know I don't have a Saucepan Man bag YET!!! It is just on my list of names to give my bags....but I think after all this talk of ol' Saucepan Man, I will definitely have to name my next bag after him...so stay tuned :P

PS. Yes, definitely get the book. You will love it!

I love this book - I have it too, though I am yet to make anything from it. It's definitely on the list of things to do... that and a lot of other things too I might add. Your pics have inspired me.

I'm so glad you made something from that sock book. i checked it out from the library and didn't have the guts to try any. Your elephant is cute!

your little sock puppet is so cute. I've seen that book around yet I'd be hopeless at making any of them.
