The Granny Dud!!!

Yep, that's me. Had lots of fun at Brown Owls on the weekend learning how to crochet a granny square. Or in my case how to *ahem* NOT crochet a granny square.

Not going to say exactly which one is mine. Let me just put the words "not a square" and "technicolour vomit" out there. And leave it at that.

For a close look at a much prettier square made on the day, check out the Bondville blog. And spend some time there. There's much to browse and covet, and Steph has been saying some very lovely things about our recent Eco Etsy joy. Thanks Steph!!!

Oh I'm sorry. If at first you don't succeed, yadda yadda. Although personally I have not yet managed to crochet anything at all.

Technicolour vomit. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehehehehe

The beautiful thing is that even though it might not have turned out as expected, you came up with an original design! That's the bonus of crochet.

Oh but a retro inspired bag with your tecnicolour vomit granny circle / octagon / rectangle... you could be onto a winner there Bec ;)

All I will say from a fellow "I (used to) suck at crochet is PRACTICE makes perfect (well as perfect as I will ever get it!) Good luck!

This is just a wild guess Bec, but is your little number round, red and sorta yellow? It's ... beautiful. My mother attempted to teach me to crochet when I was a girl and it was pitiful to see a grown woman cry. To this day I can't crochet and find that the sun still comes up in the morning.

lol. Love it. Mine wasn't much better, but I managed on the day as the person sitting beside me (Sandra) talked me through each stitch. Mmmm... my attempt since I've come home and tried on my own however.....

Too funny Bec! Of course it's totally cute and would make a great little brooch for a cardi.

Thanks also for the lovely compliments. I'm blushing!

With a bit more practice you'll be churning them out in no time! Looks like you had fun
