100th post crafty giveaway bonanza!!!

I've always wanted to get the word 'bonanza' into a post title. And now I have. Yay!

So I am joining many other fine people who are having bloggy milestone giveaways at the moment, and am having one of my own. It's funny that I had decided to have a bloggy break when I realised I was about to do my 100th post. So it seems like a good time to stop and reflect on how much blogging has enriched my life. Or rather, how the blogging community has enriched it. So thank-you to anyone who has ever read one of my posts, or has left me a comment. My little break is not a reflection on my lack of appreciation that's for sure. Ok, enough of the sentimental rambling of an overtired crafter. Onto the good stuff. Here's a lowdown of the loot that will go to the lucky winner of this crafty giveaway bonanza (and if you can just say this in a booming echo voice while you read this it would make me really happy :P).

1. A gorgeous vintage apron.

The detail on this little baby is amazing (unlike my ironing skills which are significantly less than amazing - sorry).

2. Six vintage sewing patterns.

The Simplicity patterns top left and bottom right are a women's size 12. The Simplicity pattern bottom left is a women's size 16. The girls' dresses pattern is a size 6, the toddler patterns are a size 3, and the boys' shirt pattern is a 35" chest (and come on, wouldn't a teenage boy just love to wear a homemade shirt like one of these...he he...) Oh, I haven't thoroughly checked that all patterns are intact but they do seem to be, and I have no reason to believe they aren't.

3. Five vintage knitting patterns and one vintage crochet pattern. Check out the ciggies in some of these shots. The dude is doing the 'casual ciggie' hold, and I think the chick is going for a 'sexy sophistication' look. And I'm not even going to comment on the girl doing the crochet, with her little brother holding her wool, and the older brother looking down with interest...yep, moving on...

4. A pack of vintage sheet fat quarters.

5. Some handmade goodies, including a fabric bookmark,

felt rosette brooch, and felt hair clip.

Now as I may have mentioned once or twice, I am now having a bloggy break. So you will have plenty of time to enter. I will do a random draw to determine the winner on Thursday 14th August. To enter, I am actually going to bully you into participating in some market research for me. No don't worry, I'm not going to ask for your phone numbers and ring you during dinner time to ask you to do a quick survey which will only take five minutes but really will take 40mins. No - what I am asking you to do is just to visit my Etsy shop and tell me in the comments here, which is your favourite item. I have committed to doing a market with BrisStyle at Christmas time, and I really have no idea what I should be focussing my efforts on making. Little bags, big bags, girls' bags, boys' bags, brooches, clips, bookmarks.....if you can just copy and paste the name of the item you like best it would really help me to make some decisions. If you could also tell me why that item is your favourite that would be great - but it's not an entry requirement (I know how time consuming commenting is). And you might win a nice prize :P

Thanks again to everyone who reads these posts (especially those who actually make it all the way to the bottom). Many thanks my friends. Be well. XXX Bec

Wowee! With all that loot it definitely is a crafty giveaway bonanza bonanza onanza nanza anza nza za (ok that was my attempt at echo humour)!
Anyway...the etsy shop...my faves are definitely the handbags. For a long shopping trip I would choose the Fiddlestick Field Shoulder bag so I could shop hands free. For an everyday handbag, I would choose either the Pinkity or the Toffee Shock reversible bags.
If I was at a craft market and I had a strict budget, then I'd be more likely to buy little things likes brooches and hairclips.
So that's probably not very helpful because I've just chosen everything!

As you know, I lurve your bags... BTW my Bec special is still used every day!!! Ok so market research, in the shop currently I love the dandelion clock bag (as this was one of my original toss up's) but also love the polly flinders shoulder bag :)

If I was market shopping, I'd buy a bookmark as I love to read!

So what do I win ~ LOL

What a great giveaway. Congrats on post 100.

Ok, my favourite at the moment is the Pinkity but I generally love the reversible bags that you do. I think your bookmarks are really cute and I would definitely buy one of those if I saw it at a market.

Have a wonderful break.

Well done on 100 posts!
I like your reversible bags, the binding handles are really sweet, and the bookmarks would make great gifts so I imagine they would sell well. Enjoy you bloggy break (but not for too long!!)

And a bonanza it is!! Does it get any better than a vintage apron?

I'm a big bag fan. That's what I'd buy at a market like a Pinkity reversible handbag. Then I'd pick up little things like Felt Rosette Brooches. They are winners!

Congratulations on your 100th post! Have a good break too.

Congrats on 100 posts! : )
My favorite item in your shop is the Pinkity Reversible Bag! I like it's shape/handles and, of course, the fact that it's reversible!

Cindy said...

I love all of the bags, I am a huge fan of the reversable but I think that the fiddlesticks one is pretty fab.

Hi Bec. I think that your Alice Little Lady bag is just gorgeous. Little bags for little girls always go down well so that would be my pick, especially for the upcoming markets. Having said that, I think the brooches and hairclips are also excellent market ideas too!

Toffeeshock reversible and Fiddlestick field bags sing to me Bec! Best of luck in the market - return safely!

I love the bookmarks - but you know that, don't you??

Congrats on your #100 post! I've just made my 100th this week too!

In your etsy shop, I love the Little Man Bag. Boys are sooo hard to buy for!

djbebe said...

Congratulations on 100 posts, and I hope you are having a lovely break!

It's very hard to pick a favourite - all so good - for me I would choose the fiddlesticks bag. But I think for markets, especially around Christmas, little giftable items would be good sellers - the hair clips are very cool. And the Little Man Bag is awesome.

Cass said...

I like the Fiddlesticks bag and the reversible bags but if I was at a market I would probably be looking for cheaper gifts so the bookmarks etc would be a goer.

wow this is AMAZING! I am having my first giveaway and through Comfy and Cosy I found your giveaway and we are giving away the SAME apron! (you ironed yours)How incredible is that, I think they have different pockets though. Your prize is sooo generous. I love the Fiddlesticks bag too and I think for Christmas people love to buy little things and the brooches and hairclips are perfect!! love your blog

I like the Dandelion Clock Bag because it has one shoulder strap that is long enough to be comfortable and I love the color in the lining. If I win anything, I hope it is the vintage sheet fat quarters!

OMG!!! Now, this is seriously one fabulous bonanza!!! My eyes are popping!!!

Just got back from Beckbean. I think you have a great range of items in the store. Me being a mum of a little girl whose hair is just about long enough to get some clips into, like the hair clips. But my fave is the Little Pinkity bag.

It's gorgeous!

Bec! Your prize pack has me salivating!!! (as you could well imagine!) What a fantastic, yummy bunch of goodies, and what a lovely thing to do!

Such a shame for me that you're taking a break from blog-world, I love your posts and pics - but maybe a good thing for you :)

My faves in your shop are your bags - they are so well made and are gorgeous designs. I really like the designs of your little man and little lady bags as well as the reversible handbags. I think these bags especially would be great for our market.

Iwill say the Pinkity reversible handbag, but it was very hard to chose. The Pinkity has such lovely fabrics and wuold go with most of what I wear. To have it reversible gives me twice the use!
All your products look wonderful.

Hey Bec! Congratulations on the 100! Now, don't worry about including me in the giveaway (I'm already freaking out about just how much stuff I have to move next year), but I wanted to help out.

I think definately your bags are a go. My favourite shape is the one that the dandelion clock is in, but I love them all.

Then I think doing a few small things as well is always good at markets, especially at Chrismas, people are after lots of little sweet stocking fillers and can often justify small purchases at that time.

Good luck!

Patty said...

I love love love the Little Pinkity handbag. The fabric is gorgeous and how cool that it's reversible.

WOWEE - I have just descovered your blog & checked out your etsy -Definately your bags do it for me!! I think they will be perfect in a market close to christmas too - perfect christmas present!!!
But honestly all of it was gorgeous!!!!

I love the Polly Flinders bag - love the colours in it. I think at a market your bookmarks, brooches and clips would be big hits too.

(That probably doesn't help much does it)

Love the humungus bonanza giveaway my dear!!! Just checked out your etsy site and have to say I love the whole lot but my favorite would be the little girls handbags. What little girl wouldn't adore your creations??? Have a great break...

Without hesitation, I'd pick the Fiddlestick Field Shoulder Bag. It's something I would buy in preference to bookmarks or brooches, and I just love the fabric you've chosen for it (both color and pattern). It's my cup of tea!

Jenny said...

Happy 100th!!! I love the reversable bag too-the material and style is gorgeous. That apron is just amazing!

Stomper Girl said...

Happy 100th post. I visited your shop and I do think your bags are just fabulous. I'm torn between the Pinkity and the Polly Flinders (and I'm more of a purple girl than a pink one, so they must be good!) but the boy bag is also sweet.

Have a good blog break.

Jo (sparkly green knickers) said...

I love the shoulder bags, and the little lady bags. Maybe some little lady bags to match mummy's bag (ie same fabric)? That'd be cute.

I think I have to say I love your bags the best, I have always had an admiration for them starting when you started sewing them back in the Newbie Sewers Group!! My favourite bag ATM is Jack - Little man bag. I know my daughter would love a little lady version!!

Oh and I need your email addy for the FQ Swap (sorry to post about it here!) so email me at meikaslittletreasures(at)gmail(dot)com so I can send you the details!

My favorite is the Polly Flinders shoulder bag. I really like to asymmetrical flap that buttons. Also I prefer a bag that I can wear across my chest diagonally. I don't love the fabrics used, but really like the style of that bag.

Congrats on your 100th post! It's difficult choosing a fave from your shop but I'll go with the Fiddlestick Field bag. Why? Oh bugger...for someone on a bloggy break you're asking too many questions ;) Why? Just coz I like it that's why! Sorry if that's not very helpful. Enjoy your break & I can understand how all the cyber stuff gets too overwhelming at times. I often find myself longing for a world without computers. Take care xo

Jack Little Man Bag...I liked that one when I first saw it, and still like it a lot. But my 'little' grandson is 13 and about 5'10, so I'll let someone else snap it up!

Enjoy your 'puter-less time and do take deep deep breaths. Congrats on 100 too...how blogtime does fly, eh?

Hi Bec

Congratulations on reaching 100 - have you received your telegram from the Queen yet? You know I love all your bags, but if I had to choose one, it would be Fiddlestick Field shoulder bag.

But then, how can I go past the Little Man Bag?

NeverEverEmma said...

Hey Bec! Great items - I love your bags and the hairclips are cute too. My Favourite thing is the cherrytree slingback bag, closely followed by the little man bag - very cute! good luck with your stall and congrats on 100 posts!

Congratulations again on your 100th post. You deserve a little blogger holiday after that effort. Now don't worry about the giveaway as I have no idea what to do with vintage patterns. You would be lucky to find a needle and thread in my house to sew on a button or anyone who would know how. I just wanted to let you know my very favourite item from you shop is your; Jack - Little Man Bag. It's so cute and original idea for a boy. My boys love handbags. They also love pink which is a little worrying. Happy blogoholidaying Bec :-) Cheers, Amanda

Oh, the fabric, oh the patterns, oh the apron!!! The apron's my fave.

So, my favourite item from your etsy shop would be Pinkity reversible handbag. I very very much love the fabric you've used on the outside, as it's very distinctly vintage. I've a thing for vintage tablecloths.
Love the button detail on the inside and the stripe fabric on handle, gives it a bit of a modern twist.

Hello! Just stumbled on your blog while doing a search in flickr for fabric bookmarks. I love those! But my favorite item in your shop is actually the Polly Flinders bag. I love the shape, the colors, and that it is made out of reclaimed fabric--something I love to do. Congratulations on a 100 postings!

Wow that is quite a giveaway! I like the Pinkity reversible handbag and I also think the Dandelion Clock shoulder bag is pretty darn cute! I just put your blog in my google reader and I can't wait to come back!

Jennifer said...

Truly, everything in your shop is lovely, but I would probably focus on hair clips and brooches, since they are little, and likely quicker than larger bags. But I also know that every craft show has a different crowd/vibe/highlight, so it's so hard to know.

I love the cherry tree bag!

I love the colors and the wide strap. I think you could sell quite a few of these, but I also think it would be a good idea to stock up on smaller, less costly things. In my (limited) experience, these are the things that do really well at fairs.

Congrats on 100 posts!

Congrats Bec on your 100th post. I love bags and yours are just gorgeous. I think that the Pixie Piper is my favourite but very hard to choose.

What a lovely give away - you are very generous!

All the best, Rach

I love the little hair clips and bags. I think for a market, the hairclips will sell well as they make good stocking stuffers or cute little presents for young girls.

Stephanie said...

Peggy - Little Lady Bag and the Fiddlestick Field shoulder bag...Peggy because it's just super cute...it could be for all ages, young and old. Perfect little gift. I love the shoulder bag style (I heart the pattern)...but the syle because it looks like it will hold a lot...that's something we all look for. You should definitely have more of your little goodies too because they would be great for stocking stuffers! best of luck!

Kys said...

Jack - Little Man Bag, i like this bag the best, just wish my little boy was older! I also like the little hairclips, and think for a market a range of bags and then some cheaper items like hair clips, and bookmarks would sell well.

Congrats on your 100th post!!!

Congratulations on your 100th Post :)

Now as for what I like - I love this bag http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13495983 but for markets, I think a range of price is good, the bookmarks would make super gifts for children to buy for teachers etc, and I love your vintage fabric choices as well. Hope the markets do well for you.

Drewzel said...

Pinkity is my fave, and I love the fact that it's reversible...however, I know if I had it I wouldn't use it because I need shoulder straps. Hooray for reversible bags with shoulder straps :P

Florence Knapp (Flossie Teacakes) said...

Goodness, I think that you are SO entitled to use the word 'bonanza' with a giveaway of such size (and loveliness).

My favourite is the Buttercup Field reversible handbag - mainly because I like the colours and the style of it - the reversible bit isn't the thing that sells it to me (although that's so clever that as a sewer, rather than a purchaser, it leaves me wanting to inspect it to look at how such cleverness was constructed!), but the fact that co-incidentally I love both of the colours does.

I love all your bags though - they are the things that you make that I always love best.

x
